Like the Old World calendar, the New World one begins and ends in the coldest, snowiest part of the year; however, in contrast to the Old World's four-season, twelve-month breakdown, time in the New World is divided into six seasons and sixteen triants.
Lasting three weeks apiece, the triants offer each House a time of the year when their Power is particularly strong; at this time, Power projects tend to bear more impressive fruit, and likewise, impressive deeds tend to have much more notable ramifications. Within each triant, there are two lesser holy days, and one central High Day which comes at the midpoint of the three weeks.
