The Two Hundred

In times of the greatest crisis, the Warrior Lord calls on the House Champions to come to his aid; however, the World being what it is, there are always crises that need to be tended to, and when something demands Franklin's attention, it is the Two Hundred, a hand-picked band of carefully trained warriors, who accompany him. The "Greater Heroes" named in the Chronicles tend to be the Champions, but Franklin's "Lesser Heroes," the ones more apt to follow him into small(ish)-scale trouble, will be the senior bayons from this group.

Organization

Hierarchy

Aside from the cappen, the Two Hundred has a total of sixteen officers: fourteen bayons and two krupps (the cappen's lis). The cappen has two bayons who stand with him, and each krupp has one; the remaining ten have charge of their own smaller units.

Cappen: Tr Drune of Flight
Krupps: Quidin of Earth & Doobin of Beasts
Bayons of Note
* Artemis Clemans: Very close to Franklin, and much-admired as an exemplar.
* Funkton of Flight
* Ozzotto of Flight
* Denise Gray Jones of Flight
* Warzanzi Warinstein

Combat Teams

Each bayon stands at the head of a unit of sixteen men; traditionally, these groups are split into four smaller combat teams, with the bayon leading one and "lis" taking charge of the others (click here for an example of how one unit was organized). Within each combat team, there is apt to be a gunner, a spearman (whether the long Creation spears or the shorter, three-pronged "catchers") and two swordsmen.

Getting Around

Some armies march: others have less tiring ways to travel. The upshot of having a high commander with the powers of Shadow and Flight is that the Two Hundred rarely have to travel long distances on foot; when something needs their attention, Franklin simply picks up his men and brings them to the trouble.

Downtime

The relative quiet of the last twenty-five years means that the Two Hundred have spent a fair amount of time in their City barracks, adjoining the House of Flight; their other roosting grounds are in the mountains north of the Great Vale, the remote foothills close by the newly founded Flight Castle.

Recent History

Momaar's Folly (108)

While they were not among the first to go after John Momaarson out to Holy Hill on his Folly, the Two Hundred were called in to help in the rescue of his father Momaar after the latter's ill-fated attempt. The entire company did not go into the field, but they did send a contingent out with Briann Yoshido's battle, including then-cappen Lord Ichor Muse of Flight and rising young bayon Collin Bilson. Shortly after the Folly, the witsies' first strike brought the company to Harrisport, where they settled in for the next three years to prepare for the grand counter-strike.

Witsie War (112)

During the Witsie War, the Two Hundred's role was playing the part of "Franklin's Whip" - in the initial clash between the City and witsie fleets, they were transported rapidly from ship to ship in a blur of Shadow and Flight, meeting the enemy in a total of sixteen clashes that ended up soundly routing the witsies.
